The Great Bald Eagle, found only in North America, adorns the United States as its national bird. The triumphant bird was placed on the Great Seal of the United States on June 20, 1782 and in its honour, Congress proclaimed 1982 the Bicentennial of the Bald Eagle, and June 20, National Bald Eagle Day. Holding a central place in spiritual traditions of Native North Americans, eagles are celebrated as creatures of vision, power, and grace.

The Bald Eagle may reach speeds of up to 44 miles per hour during migration and can dive at 200 miles per hour. Eagles strike their prey with enormous force; a bald eagle can hit with twice the force of a rifle bullet.

Our hand carved Eagles capture a bald eagle in the moment just before it gracefully and explosively snatches a fish from the water.

With each USA Stone Eagle comes a Certificate of Authenticity, showing the progress of the artist starting work on a raw piece of stone, starting with a hammer and chisel turning it into an amazing work of art, so you can experience the journey that the stone takes from beginning to end.

Our Eagles are carved from beautiful semi precious Serpentine Stone

Picture of the author

Serpentine is California’s State Rock and occurs in central in the Coast Ranges, the Klamath Mountains, and in the Sierra Nevada foothills and northern California. Serpentine has been used as an architectural stone for thousands of years.

Serpentine is most commonly green in colour, however we have used the rarer Black Serpentine Rock to more closely match the Black colouring of the American Bald Eagle.

The eyes of the eagles are made from Tiger Eye Gemstones!

Eagles have 3-4 times better distance vision than humans. We wanted to depict this amazing visual trait by adding the Gemstone Tiger’s Eye to the eyes of the Eagles

Picture of the author

Origin of Tiger’s Eye:
Nicknamed The Shapeshifter, the earthly rich and curious gemstone of Tiger’s Eye invites the wearer to embrace their inner-strength, personal willpower, and to call on the powers of protection. In the 16th century, Tigers Eye was so rare it was considered to be an element so precious, it’s worth was so much higher than gold.

From the US states of Arizona and California to the big cat lands of South Africa, the spice islands and tumbling tea plantations of India, and the arid endless outback of Western Australia, Tiger’s Eye is mined in places where heat, dry air and a sense of wilderness runs rampant.

The stories behind Tiger’s Eye says that the Egyptians fell hard for the iridescent rays of the Tiger Eye Stone, they believed that it expressed divine vision and would even use it as a stone to represent the eyes when creating great deities. It was also used as a protective amulet on the breastplates of roman soldiers in battle.
